A First Look at ABC's New Show: Once Upon A Time

Hey there friends.  I'll admit that I haven't had much interest in watching TV.  It's been over a year now since one of my favorite shows has gone off the air and there just hasn't been anything on to fill the void that Lost has left.  There have been some comedies that come and go, some dramas that have fizzled, and there is nothing mysterious that has me amazed.  It seems that I'm just in need of a new show.  Well, it looks that I may have found it.  ABC has recently announced that Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz (the awesome wirting duo that brought us Lost and Tron: Legacy) are at it again with their new show Once Upon a Time.  Check out the trailer!

How awesome is that?  Here's a quick breakdown of the show:

Anna Swan (Jennifer Morrison) is a 28 bail bonds collector.  Abandoned as a baby, she has no family to call her own.  But one day, the10 year old child, Henry, finds her and Anna knows he's the son that she gave up years ago.  Henry tells Anna that he believes that she is not from this world, but from the world of fairy tales.  He believes that she is Prince Charming and Snow White's missing daughter.    Anna doesn't believe him but she decided to take him to his hometown of Storybrooke...  and that's where the struggle between good and evil, real and imaginary, reality and fairy tale take place.

A show with dark twist and turns intertwined with fairy tales?  Sounds intriguiging to me.  We all know the fairy tales so we'll be familiar with characters such as Snow White and Prince Charming, the Evil Queen, and Rumplestiltskin.  They all make an appearance and I for one am a little enchanted by it all.  I seem to enjoy plot twists and when it comes to reading fairy tales by the brothers Grimm, I enjoy the darker side of the stories that we all know so well.  I'm sure that the dynamic team of Adam and Edward will be able to provide intriguiging stories covering some of the best known fairy tale characters.  I can't wait to see what they can come up with.  They did an awesome job with Lost, a wonderful job on Tron: Legacy, and I know they'll do spectacular work on Once Upon a Time.  The master storytellers of Lost are set to revamp our beloved fairy tales and I simply cannot wait to check it out.  Later!
