Hey there. I'm a movie buff. I love movies from all genres and I try to catch as many of them as I can. Even though my favorite genre is horror of any kind, my wife balances me out with romantic comedies and other "chick flicks". The latest that we went to see was Bridesmaids and one of the trailers that caught my attention was for the movie The Change-Up. The movie stars Ryan Reynolds and Jason Bateman, 2 actors that I think are pretty good. Ryan recently starred in The Green Latern and Bateman is starring in another awesome comdey, Horrible Bosses.
Anyways, from the director of the The Wedding Crashers and the writers of The Hangover, The Change-Up has the right cast behind the scenes and on the screen to be a big hit. Especially when the story revolves around 2 best friends wanting what the other has. Think about it. How many times have you gone over to a good friend of yours and said, "Man, you have it all. Single, partying everynight, no care in the world. I wish I was in your shoes.", only for your friend to say, "You're crazy, man. You have it all. A wife, kids, a family. I wish I could experience that sense of belonging." It happens more often than not, people! lol The only difference is that our lives are not part of a movie, but Mitch (Reynolds) and Dave (Bateman) are. They are best of friends that were inseparable during their youth only to have adulthood (and lifestyles) take much of their time away from each other (again, something many people can relate to). During a night out drinking, they wish they had each others' lives. Dave wanting to be stress free while Mitch wants the high paying job and awesome family. Upon waking up, they are now in the other's body! lol
It sounds like Freaky Friday (starring Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis) but the grown up version. Instead of dealing with high school stuff, a sultry legal assistant and an estranged father are in the mix to complicate the lives of Mitch and Dave. With time running out, will they be able to avoid destroying each other's lives while attempting to regain what they once had? Sounds awesome to me! Check out the trailer below.
Make sure to check it out and find discover how this story will end up! The Change-Up will hit theaters on August 5th. See you there! Later!

Is it just me, or does it seem that Ryan Reynolds seems to be in quite a few movies lately! I think he looks better with the beard in Blade: Trinity though ;)
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like a fun plot - proving how noone really knows what it feels like to walk in someone else's shoes... lol
ReplyDeleteHey there Daria,
ReplyDeleteIt does seem like a fun movie and even though the plot has been done before, I'm curious to see how a R rated version will do in theaters.

Hey there Karen,
ReplyDeleteHe's a pretty popular guy now a days. And I agree about the beard, but when you mentioned it, I pictured him in Amityville Horror. I almost forgot that he was in Blade: Trinity. lol
