The breakfast of champions! |
First thought I had was, "4 kids. 3 boxes. How am I going to distribute this evenly?" After reading the directions, I found that my youngest (2 next month) can't take them since they're recommended for kids 4-13 so that took care of that. The next thing was choosing the best time to give them to the kids. I'm wasn't so sure about that so I asked around and I noticed that just about everyone had a different opinion. The 3 popular times were right before school, before going to bed, and right after dinner. I chose before school. In my mind, I think that starting off the day with a boost would be good for them and their education.
First off, I love that I received 3 flavors. Kids are more inclined to stay away from bad tastes and thankfully, the kids approved all three flavors. I'll admit that I was little surprised by that, since from my experience, anything that is grape flavored never really tastes like grape. lol Anyways, each box came with 30 packets and each packet would be mixed with a cup of water. Less water for more flavor and more water for less flavor. At first, I thought I might be diluting it too much with a cup but that seemed to taste just fine for the kids. As for it's immune boosting properties, I can't say that the kids turned into super kids, BUT... they haven't gotten sick, so that's a positive sign, right? lol
I like that the kids will drink this without a fuss and as long as they're getting their daily dose of vitamins, I can't complain. The only thing about evaluating vitamin supplements is that it's difficult to tell whether or not they're really working for you. If only there was some kind of body scan that will give you daily levels of calcium, vitamin C, and all the other vital nutrients and minerals, then I could easily say, "HEY! This stuff boosted your Vitamin C levels by 2000%!", but there isn't. Well, at least none that doesn't involve the drawing of blood. lol Nevertheless, it makes me feel comfortable knowing that they take it and they're getting that added boost to that immune system. Kids are prone to get sick because of school. It's no surprise that when one kid gets sick, it seems like they all get sick. At least with Emergen-C, I'm helping to reduce that chance of the kids catching something.
If you haven't already checked it out, you definitely should head on over to their facebook page for a free sample. It's definitely worth it! And while you're at it, you should take the Emergen-C Kidz Pledge. By pledging, Emergen-C will donate 25 cents to the Vitamin Angels charity. It's free to pledge and by doing that, you're helping a child someone get that much needed love and nutrient supplement that they need. It's fast and it's easy. I've already taken the pledge. Let me know once you have too. Later!
