Hey there. So tomorrow is my first ever 5K run. And what better run to do than The Color Run. It's not a timed run, so there is no pressure to finish in the top whatever and it seems like it's a lot of fun. Today, we had to travel to Laguna Hills (over an hour away) to pick up our pre race packets. Turns out that you get an awesome The Color Run shirt, head band, a color run sticky tattoo, and a bag of powdered paint. It looks like the wife and I are now ready to go. I should have taken a pic of the stuff, but I forgot and to be honest with you, I'm too lazy to go out to the car and get them. lol

In line for our shirts! Waiting now to avoid waiting tomorrow! |
We are team Paint Dots! A name that my comadre,
Susie, came up with. Being an artist, it was natural that she would come up with something with paint. lol She also brought the run to our attention so we're pretty sure that we wouldn't be running it without her telling us about it. It was kinda of funny how things played out. I told myself that I wanted to do some running this year. A marathon or a 10K or something like that. When the comadre invited us to check this out, I knew that it would be perfect. It's not a "competitive" run and you can go at your own pace. It's perfect for a pair of beginners like the wife and I.

The wife has her number and ready to go! |
After this one is done, we'll step it up a notch and do a 10K and then go from there. If we can keep up with the other runners, maybe we'll jump into doing a half marathon or a full marathon. One thing is for sure, I would LOVE to do a zombie run, mud run, or a Spartan Race sometime soon. Now that would be freakin' awesome!!! Later!
How did it go?
ReplyDeleteIt was pretty awesome, Sarah. 12,000 runners showed up and it was entertaining and fun. If The Color Run shows up in your area, you must check it out
