An Oral-B toothbrush with power!

Hey there.  This year, I turned 30 years old and I made a promise to myself to take better care of myself. Not because I'm in poor health or anything of that sort, but because it's a healthy lifestyle that I want to integrate into my life.  I started to exercise regularly, started going on morning runs, and I started to pay more attention to my personal hygiene and grooming habits.  I want to make sure that I am at my best going forward and nothing says great hygiene than an awesome smile.  That's the first thing that people see when they meet someone, you know.  A bright smile can convey confidence and that's what I want.  My teeth have coffee stains and I've been thinking of getting a more serious toothbrush to tackle those stains and attain that awesome smile.  Good thing that my good friends at Dad Central and Oral-B provided me with a toothbrush that claims to do just that.  Check out this bad boy!  The Oral-B ProfessionalCare Smart Series 5000 with SmartGuide (Oral-B 5000) toothbrush!

Now that is one serious looking toothbrush!  I have used the "manual" powered toothbrushes and to be quite honest with you, I rarely reached the 2 minute mark of brushing that dentists recommend.  I would always give my teeth a good scrubbing for about a good minute or so and be done with it.  One really, really bad habit that I had was that I wouldn't floss.  I know!  I know!  I should floss but it was something that I never did as a habit and now as an adult, it's a habit that I just can't seem to incorporate into my morning routine.  Hence, the reason why I promised myself to do it more often.  It's also why I make sure that the kids take good care of their teeth.  I know that those great habits start from a young age and if you don't get them started early, it's going to be tough for them.  Just like how it is for me.  But now that's all about to change!

The Oral-B 5000 is making it easy to do all that is needed to keep those teeth healthy and clean.  First off, this power toothbrush is simply awesome.  After a quick charge, it's ready to go and because there are several types of toothbrush heads that are available, you can make sure that you get exactly what you need.  Since I have a bad habit of not flossing, I'm glad that the toothbrush head that comes with the Oral-B 5000 has "flossing action" while you brush.  That's perfect for a guy like me!!!  The toothbrush head easily snaps off and on into place so it's quick and easy to switch between family members.  It also has several brushing modes so it's easy to get a deep clean, sensitive brush, or a whitening session with a touch of a button.

"But Metallman, how do you know what mode you're in when there is no display on the toothbrush?"
Good question, my friend.  The answer is the SmartGuide.  That smart guide is like a little dentist right there to guide you.  The brushing modes on the Oral-B 5000 can be switched by pressing the mode button on toothbrush.  The SmartGuide will pick up on the change and will display the mode on the screen!  How cool is that?  Also, there is a circle with 4 quadrants on the SmartGuide to help you brush your teeth.  Each quadrant represents a section of your mouth.  When you turn on the toothbrush, a quadrant on the SmartGuide will flash.  That's the part you should spend your time brushing.  AND... it times you!  Knowing that you're on the clock, you take your time brushing your teeth so you know that you won't short hand your teeth.  With your little dentist advising when it's time to move on to the next section, it's easy to get all your teeth the full scrubbing they deserve and get that 2 minute recommended brushing time.  Another great feature of the Oral-B 5000 is that the SmartGuide will let you know when you're brushing too hard.  Yup.  It's that smart.  You see that smile on the SmartGuide?  Well... it won't be smiling if you press too hard against your teeth.
