Hey there. Who's going to attend
EVO 2013 in Las Vegas?! Don't know what it is? It's one of the largest video game fighting tournaments in the US. Gamers gather around and duel it out on some of the most popular fighting games out there. The event is being held in Las Vegas on July 12-14 and they have announced that there will be 8 games that gamers will participate in for big prizes. Those games are:
- Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3
- Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition
- Tekken Tag Tournament 2
- Mortal Kombat 9
- Street Fighter X Tekken
- 2013
King of Fighters XIII
- Persona 4 Arena
Notice that there are only 7 games announced? That's because the public can vote for the 8th game!
17 games are up for grabs to enter the tournament and the only way you can vote for the game of your choice is by donating to
The Breast Cancer Research Foundation. The game that raises the most in donations will be included in EVO 2013. How awesome is that!?! Not only are you being proactive in the gaming community but you are also helping fund research for breast cancer since ALL proceeds are for charity. I'm definitely on board!

It feels good to donate! |
I've already voted for
Super Smash Bros Melee. It's one of those games that I had fun playing back in the day. It's also one that I think everyone can pick up and play... and it's extremely entertaining to see 4 players duke it out. I would love to attend as a competitor but I know that the pros will just mop the floor with my face. lol Aside from Super Smash Bros Melee being one of my favorites on the list, one of my cousins is a Pro Smash Bro and is hoping to get the game included in the tournament. Especially since he'll be attending the event as a participant. Also, the Pro Smash Bros community will have a huge donation push on the evening of Jan. 31st. The deadline to vote is midnight Jan. 31st so if you are interested in joining the Pro Smash Bros on Twitch and help get donations, you can check that out
here.
Support video games but more importantly, support our charities. If you have a few bucks to spare, please vote for Super Smash Bros Melee, but what you really are voting for is health. Thank you, friends. Later!
This is an interesting event though i'm not a hardcore gamer, i would like to watch this event. ;) Plus it's for a charity. You have an entertainment and you can help cancer research. Awesome!
ReplyDeleteHey there Eian! These events are freakin' awesome! I know there are few smaller tounaments in Los Angeles and I have been invited to attend but I just haven't been able to check it out. It definitely sounds like an awesome time though, doesn't it?!
