BassBoomz Provides Exceptional Sound in a Small Speaker

Hey there.  I love me a good set of earbuds.  When I go to the gym, I take none other than my silver BassBuds.  If you don't have a clue what BassBuds are, you need to read this post.  In short, they are an awesome set of headphones.  So awesome, in fact, that I just recently received a second set of BassBuds.  I receive a blue set from the Fashion Collection.  If you are in need of some headphones that will provide you an exceptional listening experience, you should definitely check out some BassBuds!  Now, BassBuds are awesome for an individual listening experience.  They are perfect for the single listener, but what if you have a group with you and you want to share in on the listening experience?  Enter, the BassBoomz speaker!

Our good friends at BassBuds provided me with a BassBoomz speaker to try out and experience.  I love the sound quality, I love that it's big sound in a small package, and I love that it provides the same listening experience as my BassBuds so that the whole room can enjoy!  I tried out the BassBoomz speaker with my Kindle Fire and my Android based smartphone.  I used the Kindle Fire to play a movie and I used the smartphone to listen to music.  Both sounded exceptional using the BassBoomz speaker!  So let's get into some of the details, shall we?

My second set of BassBuds!

BassBoomz is a single speaker that you can connect your mp3 player, tablet, phone, or any other device with a headphone jack or Bluetooth connectivity.  If your device has Bluetooth connectivity, you can connect your device to your BassBoomz.  It's a great way to have wireless connectivity and will allow you to place the BassBoomz speaker in the middle of the room and not have wires connected out of it.  The Bluetooth connectivity is perfect for music.  I connected to the BassBoomz Bluetooth connection (using the password that is provided in the instruction manual) and then placed the BassBoomz in the middle of the room.  I love that I was able to change the music and turn up the music directly from my phone without having to reach out to the BassBoomz speaker.

If your device does not have Bluetooth, you can connect to it through your headphone jack.  The BassBoomz speaker comes with a double male connection wire so that you plug your BassBoomz to your tablet or phone. I found using the wired connection best when used with my Kindle Fire.  Why?  Well, in my opinion, you can't be too far from your tablet since you'll be paying close attention to the movie.  Because of this, I found it better to use the headphone connection and keep the speaker close to my Kindle Fire.  I watched The Hunger Games with the BassBoomz speaker and I must say that I was impressed with the sound quality.  Voices are crisp, the background sounds are clear, and the bass was thumpin'!  You won't miss the bass in BassBoomz!  It doesn't matter which connection you use when using the BassBoomz speaker, through my experience, the sound quality stays exceptional through either connection.

Now, for appearance.  The BassBoomz speaker stands at about 3 inches tall when opened and about 2 inches when it's closed.  BassBoomz will need to be opened when in use or you will not get the full bass experience.  When opened, you will see the soft underbelly of the BassBoomz speaker.  YOU SHOULD NOT POKE, PROD, OR DAMAGE THE INSIDE OF THE BASSBOOMZ!  If you have ever had a "popped" car speaker, you are familiar the "fuzz" and "buzz" sound that you get!  If you pop your BassBoomz speaker, you will end up with a similar sound.  Other than that, this is one stylish looking BassBoomz speaker!

Though the BassBoomz speaker is great, it is not perfect.  The one shortcoming that the BassBoomz speaker  has is it's battery life.  No, you don't need batteries to use it, it comes with a rechargable battery installed that you can recharge via the provided USB cable.  At full charge, the BassBoomz speaker will provide you with exceptional sound for approx. 1.5 hours.  Yeah... I know.  It's simply not enough.  A movie is approx. 1.5 hours but The Hunger Games is closer to 2 hours.  The BassBoomz speaker did not make it through the movie.  Also, I love the idea of taking the BassBoomz speaker to an outdoor outing to play music for friends and family, but at an hour and half of life, I second guess whether that would be a good idea or not.  The BassBoomz speaker is PERFECT when used around the house, but I just don't see how much useful it would be when outdoors.  A glaring flaw in an otherwise excellent product.

The BassBoomz speaker is great to have.  I've been using it constantly since I've received it but I've also had to charge it back up just as many times.  It's great to use to listen to music while doing house chores.  I used it while washing the car and it sounds great!  I just don't like that the battery life is so short.  I would love to be able to take the BassBoomz speaker to the beach, but I would hate to be selective as to when to turn it on.  Again, the BassBoomz speaker provides booming sound and all in excellent quality.  I'll be posting a video review of the BassBoomz speaker on my youtube channel soon.  Make sure you stick around and check that out!  Later!
