The new Kindle Fire HDX starting at $229! |
I won't get into too much details on the 7" Kindle Fire HDX but I will touch on some of the features. The pixels on the 7" display is now 1920x1200 with high pixel density instead of 1280x800 HD display. If you opt for the 8.9" display, you'll get an even more impressive 2560x1600 with high pixel density. This provides images that will blow you away! I also love that the Kindle Fire HDX sports a 2.2 Gig Snapdragon Quad Core Processor. A jump from the Kindle Fire HD's 1.5. Gig Dual Core Processor. You'll also get longer battery life (up to 12 hours fully using the Kindle Fire HDX and up to 17 hours as an E-reader) and a front facing camera. The 8.9" Kindle Fire HDX will have the added bonus of a rear facing camera as well as a front facing camera.
Now there is a lot to talk about in regards to features with the Kindle Fire HDX but I'm only touch base on three of them. The Mayday feature, Amazon Prime feature, and the Share Your Screen Feature. Let's start off with Amazon Prime. I love Amazon Prime. It allows me to watch movies and TV shows and even allows me to borrow books to read. The downside? You'll need to be connected online to use it. Well... with the new Kindle Fire HDX, that won't be much of an issue anymore. The new Kindle Fire HDX will allow you to download videos from Amazon Prime right to your Kindle Fire HDX for later viewing! That means that you'll be free to watch ANYWHERE! Download a movie and watch it during that long airplane flight, let the kids watch cartoons during those long car rides, or catch your favorite show while sitting in a park. I absolutely LOVE that you are no longer restricted to Internet connectivity in order to watch videos. Of course, you'll need it to download them first, but once you do that, you can watch anywhere and I just love that idea.
Fine, let's ALL watch Iron Man 3 on the big screen. |
The last feature that I wanted to shed some light on is the Mayday feature. With a click of a button, you can reach the a tech support rep in a snap! No Emailing, no calling. The Mayday feature will allow a support tech to remotely access your Kindle Fire HDX and immediately tackle to problem right on your screen. They can "draw" on your screen, providing arrows and circling tabs, to allow you to troubleshoot the issue, or you can allow the tech to "take control" of the Kindle Fire HDX and fix it themselves. The awesome part about this whole thing is that the Mayday response time goal is to reach you in 15 seconds. That means that you'll get somebody to help you almost instantly. And how do you know that it will be somebody? The tech support rep will pop up, right there on your screen. You'll be able to see the rep as they help you though your issue. Now, you'll be able to see the rep but they will not be able to see you and this feature is available 24 hours a day and is completely free. LOVE IT!
