Hey there. I'm pretty big when it comes to letting people know about awesome charities. Don't get me wrong, any organization that does charity work for the better of mankind is awesome. Whether it be providing games for sick kids to play or provide resources for life saving research. No charity is too big or too small for a shout out. And with that, the organization that I want to bring to the forefront? The PB+J Organization!
So, what does the PB+J Organization stand for? Well, it helps battle Severe Acute Malnutrition (SAM). In this day and age, malnutrition is just unacceptable. It's a shame how much of it still goes on. Especially in underdeveloped countries. Just to through a number out at you... 20 Million kids suffer from SAM. 20 MILLION! That's just not right and the PB+J Organization is on a mission to cut that number down. The PB+J Organization started in 2007, right here in my home state of California, and has been going strong ever since. The organization produces fortified peanut butter paste that is specifically designed for severely malnourished children. It has been recognized by UNICEF and the peanut butter is sold through them to the world market. Profits of the peanut butter are then allocated to local hospitals and clinics to help provide to their respected communities.
The PB+J Organization started off helping the African community of Malawi and hope to grow and serve several other underdeveloped communities. The PB+J organization has helped build a stronger economy in these areas as well. By building a peanut butter manufacturing plant in those underdeveloped areas, the PB+J Organization is creating jobs for the community. They teach the locals how to run the plant and create the peanut butter. The plant would be able to create enough peanut butter for malnourished children in their community as well as for the surrounding communities.
All in all, it is a great charity that I am glad to say comes from Southern California. If you would like to read more on this great charity or donate a few bucks to their cause, please click here. The children of the world thank you. Later!
