FIRST IMPRESSIONS
The Sound Intone E6 Headphones have a very unique look. The first thing that sticks out is the odd shape of the earpieces. They look sharp... they look a little transparent... they look kinda cool. If I had to compare them to anything, it would be to some kind of colored crystal. Based on the look alone, these do not look like would be comfortable. Curious to see how they'll feel once I try them on.
The next thing I noticed is that the box mentions, "memory wire". I'll admit, it's the first time I hear of this memory wire so I'm more than curious to know how it works.
That's all I can really observe from outside the box so let's crack this baby open and see what's inside.
OUT OF THE BOX EXPERIENCE
The Sound Intone E6 Headphones are neatly placed inside a small plastic tray that is protected by a clear cover. After removing the cover, I got a better look and feel for the earpieces. The earpieces look sharp, but feel pretty nice. The rubber part that goes in your ear has a bit of a separation between them and the earpiece so it seems like the sharp part might actually stay away from your ear. I went ahead and put them on, just so that I get a great feel for them and OMG... THESE THINGS ARE SUPER COMFORTABLE!!! I am not exaggerating here, friends. Do not judge a book by its cover... These may not look it, but they are one of the most comfortable in ear headphones that I have ever used. They are designed in such a way that they fit perfectly inside your ear. It's almost as if the earpiece, "locks", into your ear and stays in there securely. It's no wonder why the ergonomic design has been patented. I simply cannot speak highly enough of the comfort level.
Once I had the Sound Intone E6 in my ears, I reverted my attention to the wire. The wire didn't feel much different than any other wire that I have seen. It is a rounded wire and since this is deemed a, "memory wire," I started to bend it and what not to see if it would stay that way. No dice. Hmmmm... still not sure why its called a memory wire. Maybe it's something that becomes more apparent with extended use. I'll keep this in mind as test these out. Also, the 3.5mm audio jack is at a 90 degree angle. I actually prefer this than to have the audio jack in line with the wire. I feel that many cords get busted because they stick out to much from your device. With the angled jack, the wire can run across your device and has less of a chance of being damaged by being bumped into.
The last thing that came out of the box was the Sound Intone E6 Headphones carrying case. The case is a small, square case that is about 2 and half inches across by half an inch thick. After pulling the zipper and opening it up, you'll see a small mesh net on one side of the case. Inside the net are the 5 sets of rubber earpieces. They are 5 sets of different sizes so you can pick and choose which ones fit your ears the best. I love that. Not all ears the same so I'm glad to see that there are options to make sure you get a comfortable feel.
BLUETOOTH CONNECTIVITY
No bluetooth connectivity here, friends. Moving on.
SOUND QUALITY
I really love the sound quality of the Sound Intone E6 Headphones. I'm really surprised that the sound quality is not advertised as high quality sound. If these headphones do not have high quality tech built into them, it sure does sound like it. Especially when it comes to the bass sound. You get a really great BOOM from these headphones. But that doesn't mean that these bad boys are a one trick pony. The sound is crystal clear across all levels. After going through weeks of use, I got to listen to all kinds of genres of music and every single one came out sounding exceptional. Highs are crisp, the mids are warm, and the bass is simply booming. Excellent, excellent, excellent!
CONTROL BAR
What is that? 5 functions for a single button??? |
CALL FUNCTIONALITY
I fired up Skype and dialed up the wife to test out the call functionality of the Sound Intone E6 Headphones. After a few minutes of calling and answering calls, the call functionality simply works. Nothing too out of the ordinary here. The sound is pretty clear, I was heard clearly. The only drawback is that if you are using this outside, the wind may play a part as to how well you can be heard. I did get a complaint or two about the wind noise, but to be honest, it's to be expected if you are jogging and trying to use the phone at the same time.
BATTERY LIFE
Wired headphones so no battery here, friends.
CONCLUSION
So there you have it, my experience and review of the Sound Intone E6 Sport Beat Headphones. Even though the sound quality is excellent, I would recommend you buy a pair based on the comfort level alone. I'm telling you, these things are super comfortable! Oh... as for that so called "memory wire"... the only thing that I could possibly label as memory wire is the small 2 to 3 inch section of wire that wraps around your ear. After awhile, it seemed like the wire would take the form of my outer ear, but I couldn't say for sure if that was it. I wouldn't put too much stock in this memory wire stuff, but just know that the headphones are top notch and do the job extremely well.
