The Otaku Box - October 2022

Hey there. The October Otaku Box is here!!! Actually... it's been here... I just haven't had a chance to take pics and post. Anyways...as you all know... I sure do love me some anime stuff and I'm just so glad that I get a box of quality otaku goodies each month. This month's goodies include items from awesome anime such as: High School DxD, Naruto, Spy x Family, and Sword Art Online. So let's dig into The Otaku Box - October 2022 Edition and get a closer look at what's inside.

High School DxD - Bridal Rias Gremory

There's just something about anime ladies in bridal gowns that just hit right. Especially when the wedding gown reflects the character's personality. In this month's prize figure, Rias in bridal attire definitely hits right. Not a traditional gown in any sense, this bridal outfit is definitely geared toward pleasing Issei. The thigh high leggings, the short skirt, and the bustier top are all things that Issei loves and this Rias bridal figures does them all right. Also, it's a nice touch that the skirt and the veil are made of the same semi see through style. Excellent figure!

Naruto - Tsunade Senju Banner

Tsunade looking ready to kick some ass in her sage form. I really like this design. Incorporating colors to represent the 5 fundamental chakra elements is an extremely nice touch. It gives of the vibe that Tsunade really has mastery of the fundamental elemental chakra natures. Absolutely love this fan art!

Naruto - Cosplay Headband

Now this is really cool. This Naruto headband is a great addition to any Naruto cosplay! This is the first time that The Otaku Box has included a cosplay item and I'm all for it! I believe that anyone can cosplay as whoever they want and having a popular anime item like this is a great first step. Loving the idea of adding cosplay items and looking forward to seeing what items are in store for the future!

Sword Art Online - Hanging Asuna Acrylic Figure

Having a hanging acrylic figure is an amazing idea! The overall design of Asuna hanging from a crescent moon just looks amazing. With that being said... I'm not a really big fan of Asuna's look here though. Don't get me wrong, her outfit is great, it's from the Alfheim Arc, and it's very well designed and detailed... but if I didn't know any better, I wouldn't think that this figure is Asuna. Just something about her facial structure, or design, makes this figure look like it's some random blonde elf girl cosplaying as Asuna. I get that most of the figures and art designs come from fan art, and I'm all for fan art, but this is one of the rare times that I'm just not feeling the fan art here. Am I the only one? 

Spy x Family - Anya Forger Plushie

Spy x Family! Anya! In plushie form! Yay! I  really like this small plushie. It's squishy, it's fluffy, it's fun, and it's adorable. I really like having items like this hanging around my house and I'm looking forward to having Anya's smile brighten up a room. Love it!

Basilisk - Akeginu Button

Ooooo... Basilisk. It's great to see early 2000's anime get some love and it's fitting that Akeginu is the one getting that love. This raven haired kunoichi uses her seductiveness to lure men to their deaths. This design brings that seductiveness to the forefront by displaying her, ahem, assets but also hints at her deadliness by incorporating her kitana into the design. I've always been a huge fan of the black and red look and this Akeginu design is hitting all the right notes for me!

Soulworker - Ephnel Waifu Card (Bonus Item)

The anime inspired game, Soulworker, is getting it's time to shine with this Ephnel waifu card! I must say, though, the design of this card is a little underwhelming, especially the holographic aspect of it. Ephnel looks great and all but the card just looks a little... blah. Almost everything but Ephnel is holographic which makes it feel like the background art is missing from the card. It would have been better if there was something, anything, in the background. I would have suggested some sort of green aura that could have come out of the Ephnel's bombing spear and have that aura incorporate holographic elements. Or just have the green aura be the background. Also, Ephnel's white coat is pretty bad ass and it's a shame that most of the coat is hidden behind Ephnel. Love to see Soulworker get some love, but this waifu card missed out on an opportunity in adding some great gaming elements into the design.

Spy x Family- Loid Forger (VIP Item)

Loid! Spy x Family's bestest dad, Loid, makes an appearance! Mind you, this mini figure is one of 6 that is randomly selected, and though I love me some Yor, I can't complain about this Loid figure. The mini figure is well crafted, looks awesome, and is a welcomed addition to my mini figure collection. Now... if only I can get that elusive Yor figure to pop up in my next box!!! *hint hint* =o)

And there you have it, folks. The Otaku Box - October 2022 Edition. Man, I've been really loving some of the stuff I've been getting here. Also, because I am now considered a Legendary Subscriber (being a member for a year or more), I get the Bonus and VIP items in my Otaku Box. Lastly, going through the items this month, I'm going to give my favorite item vote to the Naruto headband. Simply for the fact that it promotes the idea that anyone can cosplay. I love to see it and I hope you all too!
