BCBG Hand Bag Giveaway

Hey there. I wanted to post this yesterday but seeing that half the world was expecting pranks and what not, I figured to just wait until today. As I mentioned in this post, my wife has a few bags that may have been used once or twice that she wanted to donate to charity. I seize the opportunity and decided that maybe I would be able to give some of the bags away to readers of my site. So without further delay, here's is the first bag up for grabs!
Not bad, right?  The bag is in great condition.  It's not a brand new bag but it was only used about twice so there is nothing wrong with it.  Check out the pictures for your scrutiny.  The only thing that I found off with the bag is the plastic thing that wraps around the handle.  One of them looks a little weird, but other than that, there is nothing wrong with this bag.  So here's the deal, you will need to earn entries into this drawing.  How do you get em, like this:

Sounds fair, no?  All entries must be submitted by April 18th and I will announce the winner on April 19th.  Winner will be chosen by random.org so the more entries you have, the better the chance the random.org gods will chose you as the winner.  I won't be able to ship the bag internationally so I regret to inform you that only my US friends are eligible to enter.

This is the first bag out of a few.  If I get a good turn out on this giveaway, I'll make sure to reward you guys by having another.  So make it happen, friends!  And good luck!  Later!

Help Your Career Blast Off with Allison Maslan

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Allison Maslan, author of "Blast Off!". All opinions are 100% mine.

Hey there friends. I awhile back, I wrote about my passion for my work. How I no longer displayed that "fire" and passion that I did when I first started. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy my work, but I guess I'm just not putting forth that extra effort that I once did. Now, is it that my fire is diminished, or that I simply need a push to the right direction. I feel as if I need to be my own boss. When I found out that my web site is a considered my personal small business, I was excited. I felt a fire burning again. What I need is something, or someone to help me get my business priorities straight.

Allison Maslan is a well known life, career, and success coach. That's right, someone that knows the ropes and help guide and motivate average people like myself to greater things. I mean, she managed to guide Sam Zien, The Cooking Guy on Discovery Health, to launch his career. So, why not me?

Her latest book, Blast Off!, is now readily available on Amazon, Barnes & Noble and the Borders websites. Retail price is $24, but you know I'm a bargain hunter. I'm sure I'll be able to score and find it for less on Amazon.

The book was released on Jan. 19th and almost instantly hit the US best sellers list. I'm sure millions of people can't be wrong for seeking her guidance. It would be great to have some direction. Nobody wants to feel lost when it comes to their career or their life. I would love that guidance right now. I have a small business that I am not 100% sure how to manage. What I should keep track of and what steps I would need to take to make it grow. That book again is Blast Off! Get your copy today and find the inspiration to take the next step to a better career and a better life.  Later!

You Gotta See This Contest Winners

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Incendia Health. All opinions are 100% mine.

Hey there friends.  Most people that I know do not have perfect vision.  They either have glasses or wear contacts.  I, myself, wear glasses all day, everyday.  I can't see a thing without them... and it frustrates me when I don't have them on, because, well.... I'm blind as a bat without them.  I've even contemplating getting the LASIK procedure done. I've wondered how my different my life could be by having near perfect vision. I'm not the only one who wondered and thanks to the iLASIK Video Contest, I've been able to see what others have thought of having their life changed by LASIK.

The iLASIK Video Contest is now over, so you can't submit your own video, but you can still check out the contest winners here. My personal favorite being the “Contacts Stink” video.

I'm still debating on whether or not the procedure is for me. I'm in my late 20s and I don't know if my vision will continue a slow decline or if it will finally hit a plateau. I'll talk it over with the wife some more to get a better feel of what we think is best. I know I'm not the only one contemplating this, as evidenced by all the videos that were entered in the contest! Until then, later!

Metallman's Reverie is a Business

Hey there.  I just recently found out that that my blog, Metallman's Reverie, is considered a business.  How great is that!  This site has existed for over 2 years now.  The first year was spent experimenting on writing styles that ranged from all sorts of topics.  It was also spent trying our many of the social media networks that welcomed personal blogs such as this one.  I also tapped into the stream of online revenue but was not very successful that first year.  And rightly so.  It takes time to build a name, an audience, and reputation as a dedicated blogger.  So for that first year, Metallman's online income was not very much.  However, year #2 is a different story.

It may not be an amount to live off of, but I managed to make over $1,000 last year in online revenue.  That averages out to under $100 a month, BUT it's good enough to pay a few bills and have some "fun" money to use.  Not bad for someone in their second year of blogging, no?  Once I received my tax forms and handled that whole process, I was advised that my blog is considered a business and it is allowed to have business expenses.  Who knew!  I surely didn't so I was advised that if I have certain expenses that my business needs, I would be allowed to deduct those for next year.

I'm actually excited about this.  First and foremost, because I'm a business owner.  My own boss!  Second, because I'm able to deduct certain expenses to reduce my tax bill next year.  Now, I still consider myself a rookie here.  I just starting my third year (Earlier this month) with this blog and it's the first time I encounter the "business expense" aspect of it all.  So I'm curious as to how it will work.  I was thinking out loud the other day with my wife and we came across certain items that may or not be considered business expenses.  If I were to get a laptop, would that be considered a business expense since I would use it to work on my site?  What about the FiOS internet that I use to log online?  Or my cell phone which I use to receive and respond to Emails in regards to my site?  I have plenty of questions and if you're on the experienced side of it all, I would love your input.  In the mean time, I'll just keep tabs of those expenses, just in case I'm able to chalk them up to, "Metallman's expenses".  =oD   Later!

The Death of Entrecard

Hey there.  Today marks the day that Entrecard has died.  Well, at least to me it has.  It started off as a great tool, especially for a rookie such as myself, and it did wonders to my site.  It brought traffic, it brought readers, and it made me friends.  The downside of it all is that you had to devote quite a bit of time to drop your card on sites.  Now, this wouldn't be so bad until you realize that you can only drop 30o cards a day, minimizing the amount of credits that you can earn in a day.  Then it hits you, you need well over 1500 credits just to advertise on one of the popular sites.  That's almost a week's worth of credits to advertise on one site!  The time has come where I just don't have the time or the patience to continue with Entrecard.  I plan on leaving the widget on for a few more days.  I don't want to cheat out those that purchased ads.  Once those are done, Entrecard will be gone.

Entrecard, I thank you for the friends.  I thank you for the jump start.  But somewhere along the lines, you lost your way.  You promised cash outs, you introduced a market, and ultimately crashed down with paid ads.  My needs have changed and even though you've tried to accommodate some of them, it just isn't working out.  I'm sure they'll be others, I'm sure others still love you, but as for me, I just don't have the time.  Wish you the best of luck.  Later!
