But on the Other Hand...

One morning, a blonde woman shows up to work wearing only one glove.

Her boss, a little concerned for her well being, approached her.

"Why are you wearing only one glove?  Are you ok?  Did you hurt your hand?"

To which the blonde responds, "No.  I'm ok.  I was listening to the weather this morning and it said that today was probably going to be warm and sunny... but on the other hand, it could be cold and chilly."

Cowboy Bebop Movie

Written by my friend Teodoro Martin

My favorite animated movie is Cowboy Bebop: Knocking on Heaven's Door. I love watching this movie on satellite TV from http://www.directstartv.com/compare_directv/directv_cut_cable.html, as the quality is amazing and seems to just draw me into the flick even more! Though the movie is only about two hours long, the movie is an outstanding piece of work.

Cowboy Bebop, first of all, is set in the year 2071. The series follows the bounty hunters of Spike, Jet, Faye, and Edward as they try to make a living hunting bounties in outer space. The movie is set around Halloween in the year 2071, and crew is after a 300 million bounty (largest ever) who has released a deadly virus into a city on Mars. The bounty, Vincent, is not as simple as many would like to believe. As Spike hunts down this mastermind, he has to face others who are willing to kill anyone to destroy Vincent.

Like the series, the movie is fast-paced and with plenty of action scenes. The music is legendary among anime fans, and at times shines brighter than the film itself! I'd recommend anyone to check this movie out if they see on satellite TV, this film will not disappoint!

At the Fair Instead of by the Camp Fire

Guest post written by Martin Smith

My favorite part of going on camping trips with my dad and then with the Boy Scouts for the short few years that I was a part of them, was when we would make smores over the camp fire. They're just so good that over the years I've even made them in my own microwave but it jsut really isn't quite the same as making them over the campfire, though. So when I heard that you could get deep fried smores at the state fair.

I looked up some info about the state fair with my Clear Wireless Internet after I decided to go to it when I heard about the fried smores.

But when I finally got to the fair and got my hand on some fried smores, it was a little bit different than I had expected it. You really couldn't taste the graham cracker in it, I guess that the deep fried part of it kind of overpowered that part of it, but I really did like it.

Ode to Rain

Ode to Rain

O water from the heavens
How I love the grace in which you fall
You quench Earth's thirst
You bring us life
Droplets dancing in the sky
Partnered with neighboring winds
A ballet, nothing short of divine.
O water from the heavens
How I love the music that you create
You bless us with your symphony
A gentle splat for woodwinds
A heavy pound for brass
Your good friend thunder joins in on bass
Adding lightning's flashes, the concert is complete
O water from the heavens
How I love the serenity you create
You wash away the stress
You cleanse out the soul
Carefree and without worry
While you gently kiss our skin
A total state of bliss to contemplate our lives

Getting the Creative Juices Flowing

Hey there.  You know... it's been awhile since I wrote any poetry or composed a short story.  I remember a time, back during my elementary and JR high school days, where I would spend most of my free time writing.  Whether it be some pretty half assed poem or a quickly written story.  It was something that I liked to do during my free time and it's a skill that has definitely been placed on the back burner, along with writing music, drawing, and other things.  Well, I saw a pic of a friend today and captioned that she was handling her very first short story.  She commented on how she has these ideas but never had a chance to get them on paper.  That seems to be my story as well.

Well... actually... I do start some of them, but never had the time to finish them.  I've gotten to the point where I had the story planned out, I've had the characters mapped out, and I've actually had a chapter or two finished, but I never got over the hump of actually finishing the damn thing.  Well... this time I'm determined to get it done.  There are no excuses as to why it can't be accomplished.  No more are writers bound to pencil and paper.  There are laptops, computers, and mobile software that allows the potential poets and authors of the future to get those ideas written before they are lost to obscurity.  It's happened to me many times before where an idea comes to me but is gone before I've had a chance to write it down.

Today, I feel inspired.  I'll be posting a poem later today and hopefully, get started on a new story.  Starting from scratch.  We'll see how this goes.  Thanks D!  Later!
